Holiday Schedule & December Celestial Delights.

Hi everyone!

I’m closing the studio for a few weeks over the holidays.  December 12th will be the last week of classes - Sat. December 18th is the very last class.  There will be no regular Saturday 10–11:15 am class on January 1st. The regular class schedule will commence on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022.

I’m offering my annual Free Online New Year’s Day Yoga Class on Sat. Jan 1st, 2022;2-3pm- Facebook Event Page  I hope you can participate and set a clear intention that your self-care is a priority for 2022. If you are not on my email list for zoom classes, please send an email to countyyogaloft@gmail.com, and I’ll add you to the Jan 1st email list.

December is a month for celebration, community, connection and celestial delights.

December’s Full Moon is called the Cold Moon and occurs on December 18th and reaches its peak at 11:36 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The spiritual meaning of December’s Cold Full Moon is knowing that it is a powerful time for reflection and magic, as well as a lovely time for meditation. If you are interested in participating in a Cold Moon ritual, consider these spiritual intentions:

  • Reflection

  • Development

  • Change

  • Peace

  • Growth

  • Reawakening

  • Shadow work

Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, is the official first day of winter and the Winter Solstice. Its the longest night of the year, and this new season brings a transition of energy as we begin to return to the light.  It only happens once a year and is a very auspicious day for many cultures.

Like the 2020 Winter Solstice, I plan on spending some time in deep meditation on December 21st.   I will then write out what I’m grateful for, prayers for my loved ones, and my intentions for 2022. My church will be hosting a Winter Solstice Celebration, and I will walk the labyrinth on the grounds, review my thoughts, and later release them into a bonfire.

Celebrating the Cold Moon and Winter Solstice can be a beautiful way to remember and acknowledge that our lives are part of a larger cosmic order that is constantly changing and renewing, like ourselves.   Creating simple rituals with personal meaning can slow us down in a jam-packed season of doing and help us appreciate what we have and reflect on 2021.

We’ve completed an entire trip around the sun, and now is a beautiful moment to focus on all the good things headed your way!

I know that last December was tough as most of us couldn’t be with our loved ones. I hope this holiday season is different and that you have a wonderful time with your friends and family and stay safe.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on the mat this week, on January 1st and back for the regular schedule beginning on Tues. January 4th, 2022.

I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic 2022.

Love and light.

Anita
